Nursery children raise $300 for Forest Park center
Aunt Emmy's Play Corner in Forest Park presented a $200 check to the Forest Park Community Center. Director Jim McCoy accepted as teachers Cathy and Terry Swan led applause. The fundraiser, a raffle and bake sale with prizes from area businesses, supported senior and youth activities.

Services Held for Prominent Forest Park Hardware Founder
Eugene S. Peaslee, 80, founder of a longtime Forest Park hardware store at Madison and Beloit, died last Friday after a brief illness. He built the business over 50 years and was present on the floor until a week ago. Memorial services were held Sunday at First United Church of Oak Park. He is survived by his wife Isa, daughter Ruth, and son Donald, with whom he worked in the firm.

Dates Set for Swine Flu Immunizations in Forest Park
Forest Park residents will receive swine flu inoculations with seniors 45 and older scheduled for October 11 at 9 am at the Forest Park Community Center Jacksonville near Desplaines. Appointments are urged by calling 771 1737 or 171 9027. Other residents have October 30 and 31 at the U S Naval Training Center on Roosevelt Road from 7 am to 7 pm. The program is announced by health officer Sandra Boy.

Forest Park to pay off sewer bond issue
Forest Park Mayor Howard Mohr announced the village will retire its sewerage revenue bonds early in 1977, four years ahead of schedule, removing the special sewer tax from residents’ water bills. The plan follows new alley drainage work and ongoing sewer projects, with $75 000 still owed on bonds.
