Forest Park schools reopen with new buildings ready
Forest Park public schools plan fall opening on Tuesday September 4 1928 at 9 am. Students receive books and prices then return at 2 pm for assignments. Dr McMell will examine pupils at various schools Thursday through Saturday between 10 and 12. Birth certificates are required for first time entrants. baptismal certificates not accepted. Parents may obtain certificates at the village courthouse Forest Park. Children turning six before November 1 may enter by October 1. Rudolph Muller Superintendent.

Workman Falls From Thirty Feet at Harlem and Madison
A worker fell thirty feet from a scaffold at the Piast building on Harlem Avenue and Madison Street in Chicago. He suffered head injuries and a sprained wrist but no broken bones. He was taken to Oak Park Hospital and is recovering.

Ernst V. Beck aged 74 died at home 417 Circle are one Saturday evening August 25 1928 after an illness of eighteen months. He came from Chicago where he worked as a painter and decorator for 45 years with Bultivan & Bro. Survived by wife Marie Appel Rieck, four children, one son Ernest deceased, two living daughters Louise and Marie, a daughter in law Charlotte Rieck, two grandsons Donald and??, and a sister-in-law Anna Neumann of Chicago. Funeral held at home with Rev Buch, pallbearers from painters union 147. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Residence previously 652 Ashland Ave Chicago, later 4833 Jackson Blvd, then Forest Park. Memorial additions to Memorial Hall planned on Washington Blvd. Wilam Wormhoff resumes business in Forest Park.
