Veterans Day Ceremony at Forest Park Village Hall
Veterans from World War I II Korea and Vietnam honored on October 25 at the Village Hall Veterans Memorial. Wreaths were presented by Mayor Howard Mohr for Forest Park, Don Hanson for the VFW, and Joe Sansone for the American Legion. Firemen served coffee and doughnuts afterward.

Forest Park Elementary School District 91 appoints Dr. Raymond O’Neil as professional mediator to aid in teacher negotiations joined by Larry Buckley and Mrs. Reich. Kiwanis Club of Forest Park will mail a Dangerous Drug Educational and Identification Chart to parents in School District No 91. Chairman Jack Conway says the chart helps recognize signs of drug use in youths and lists substances such as marijuana barbiturates glue inhalants amphetamines heroin LSD and morphine. The chart is available by writing to the Drug Alert Committee Forest Park Illinois.

Forest Park Retirements Honor Pete Petersohn After 30 Years
Pete Petersohn of 518 Thomas Avenue retires November 1 after thirty years with the Village of Forest Park. He served as Supt Streets since 1944 and held Building Commissioner duties, recently led Water Department, under several mayors. He and wife Flora Schulz plan to live quietly with four children and thirteen grandchildren. A retirement ceremony is set for October 30 at 10 a.m. in council chambers with coffee and cake.
