Fully Organized Girls League Forming at Forest Park Council
Twenty two girls from almost every church attended the Girls Patriotic Service League council in the Municipal building committee room on Wednesday evening. Miss Jane Smith of the Council of Defence led the informal meeting outlining league activities. the group formed a governing council and elected committees to nominate leaders for future duties. A pledge was signed by all in attendance and preparations were noted for a rally at the council room in the Municipal building, October 4, with a fuller report promised next week.

Obituary Otto Becker Dies Sudden After Illness
Otto Becker, son of William A. Becker and Mrs. Katherine Becker, of Forest Park, died suddenly Wednesday night after a three day illness. He was an atonecutter at High for Her Tel Brox and served as a soldier of Uncle Sam. Services will be held Sunday afternoon at Forest Home Chapel. Survived by his mother and sisters Nene Miller Annis Nimaner and Lillian McPherson. grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Koztek. He was born September 27 at the Kowick home and planned a visit to his training camp in Gevratu in cave his dad.

The Neighborhood Club of Forest Park held a Centennia day gathering at Mrs H Buellesfield s home on Friday afternoon September 27. Civic committee chaired by Mrs Clara Howler arranged readings by Miss Corm McPatton with pieces such as I m An American In Flanders Fields and Verdun Her Country. Three delegates were appointed for the Sixth District Federation of Women s Clubs meeting October 10 in Herwyn with alternates named. Reservations for luncheon at 50 cents per plate required by October 7. Fifteen members and three guests attended, refreshments served, and Mrs Buellesfeld applauded by Mrs Coggeshall as hostess.
