Dorothy Thurow retires after 28 years as Forest Park’s head bookkeeper, ending a career that began under five mayors and two clerks. Born 1923 in Maywood, she moved from Concordia Cemetery grounds to Chicago, then Oak Brook, with husband Harold Thurow. In Forest Park she oversaw payrolls from 70 to 151 staff, moving from manual to computerized systems, and cherishes ties to mayors and staff.
