Local Couple Killed in Missouri Plane Crash
Frank Chiarmonte and his wife Freda of 1038 Tathrop were killed in a private plane crash near Kahoka Missouri on the Missouri Iowa border during a weekend outing. They were returning with Charles Chiarmonte and Carale Schierhorn when bad winds and storms caused a fatal crash in a farm field. Sheriff Milligan said all four died instantly. Mrs Chiarmonte is sister to Forest Park police chief Joseph Cortino. The couple will be laid out at Zimmerman and Son mortuary with funeral arrangements pending.

Northern Illinois Gas associates helped honor Walter F. Jacobs formerly of Forest Park for 35 years in the utility business. He started in 1922 as a mall clerk in Chicago and has held clerical accounting and customer service posts in Chicago Oak Park and Maywood. Jacobs now works as a customer service representative at Bellwood headquarters. He and his wife Beulah attend Downers Grove First Methodist Church where he serves as official greeter and former board member. The Jacobses started an annual block picnic seven years ago for neighbors and have two children Kenneth and Carolyn plus six grandchildren.
