Proviso P T A Holds First Meeting at High School

Proviso P T A held its first meeting of the year at the high school on Thursday evening November 1. About 200 parents and teachers attended the business session in the gymnasium after a campus dinner. Norman Almer presided as president and spoke on the value of public schools and democracy. Principal J L Thalman outlined fall achievements while Coach Coutchie thanked supporters of the football team and urged continued backing. Special Police Seek Higher Pay From Village Council

Forest Park's about twenty special policemen petitioned the village council for a pay raise from five to seven dollars per service. The petition was read Monday evening and taken under advisement. Reports covered League of Municipalities events, Cook County coordination, and street work plans including opening March avenues and removing circle road stops.
