Fred Pearce pharmacist and owner of the Beloit Pharmacy suffered a stroke Tuesday noon at his drug store in Beloit Madison. He was rushed to Oak Park hospital by police ambulance and is reported in critical condition.
The Marine Corps Recruiters hold their annual birthday ball at Cherry Hills Country Club Homewood on November 10th marking the Corps 192nd anniversary. Founded in 1775 the Marine Corps is the second oldest U.S. armed service with over 290000 members.
Army Pvt. Daniel Burton age 18 son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Burton 214 Brown assigned as an engineer equipment assistant with the 33rd Ordnance Company near Cam Ranh Bay Viet Nam on October 21.
Forest Park Public Library and the Local Kiwanis Club will present four pre school story hours starting Monday November 13 at 1 p.m. for 20 children. Janet Holt will lead the sessions in partnership with area libraries in the Western Suburbs. Separately Sgt William C Rode of Fairchild Air Force Base earned an excellent SAC rating for the 92nd Airborne Missile Maintenance unit. He is a graduate of Proviso High School Maywood. Ned Bacon, Concordia Teachers College football freshman, is a starting guard and son of Mr and Mrs Fred Bacon of Lathrop.
Forest Park Post 414 of the American Legion asks families to send the name and address of every resident serving in the Armed Forces. Names will be printed on 3 by 5 cards and mailed promptly. Mail cards to Roy H. Mohr for Forest Park Post 414 7340 Harrison Forest Park 60130.
National Art Week observance spans the United States with Forest Park Public Library hosting local artists. Exhibiting artists include Mery Elch Tom Heinz Linda Hoeschele Keren Hoeschele and Mrs Donald Gourley with display running from November 6 to 14.
Mrs. Juanita Anderson and sister Leona are organizing a seven minute private Voices from Home recording for servicemen in Viet Nam and elsewhere. The Red Cross Mid-America Chapter invites families to arrange a voice greeting, carol, or stories to send to loved ones, with contact at Oak Park office.
