Narcotics Expert to Speak to St Bernadine Mothers Club

Joseph Flederal a 27 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department will lecture at the St Bernardine Mothers Club in the School Hall on Wednesday November 9 at 8 p.m. He spent 20 years as a plainclothes officer in Maxwell Street district a noted hotspot for drug trafficking and addiction.

Marine Pvt. 1st Class Edward J. Preonis, son of Mrs. Francis Treonis, is serving with the Fifth Eight-Inch Howitzer Battery aboard the Marine Corps Base at Twenty Nine Palms, California. The base hosts Force Troops, Pacific, providing reconnaissance artillery and support to units.

Forest Park Grandmothers Club Installs Officers

Ruth Fry heads the Forest Park Grandmothers Club during an Oct installation at Fair Oaks Restaurant. Luncheon for 43 grandmothers and 11 visitors followed as Ruth Fry became President with Mary Schmidt as Vice President Theresa Van Thiel Treasurer and Bella Robinson Secretary. Louise Zeven presented Honorary Membership cards to Emma Mueller and Sophea Hogreive. Members are asked to bring canned goods in November for Christmas baskets.

Walker Named IPA Legislative Representative for 1967 Springfield

Former State Rep Claude A Walker will serve as legislative representative for the Illinois Press Association during the 1967 General Assembly session in Springfield from February 1 to June 30. He is past president and publisher of the Forest Park Review.

Walther High Drama Club to Stage Our Town

Walther Play The Drama Club presents Thornton Wilders Our Town as the first school production of the year. It runs November 5 and 6 in Walther Gym and features Debbie Bacon and Chris Becker of Forest Park in the cast.

Lions Offer Free Sight Test Sunday in Forest Park

The Forest Lions Club hosts its Second Annual Light Conservation Program at Homer's Banquet Room 7338 Madison. The free sight screening runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for all ages, with over 500 participants last year from Oak Park, Forest Park, River Forest and nearby suburbs. The event is part of Save Our Sight, aiding sight conservation and thanking supporters of Lions Candy Day.
