The St John Ev Lutheran church in Forest Park launches an 80000 fundraising drive starting Sunday November 5 with 300 volunteers commissioned at the 10 45 service. Over three weeks they will visit 1300 homes to invite participation as renovation work begins, including painting lighting rewiring and tuck pointing of the exterior and roof repairs. The 37 year old landmark church with its spire has aided local citizenship and community life and the drive seeks to restore its original beauty and condition.
Sam Campbell renowned as "philosopher of the forest" visits Grant White auditorium Randolph and Circle on Tuesday evening November 7 at 8 p.m. Sponsored by the Women's Missionary Society of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Forest Park. The program features a color film "The Grand Canyon and the Utah Parks" with Campbell's narration. Tickets available from sponsoring members.
Proviso Township high school faces Oak Park River Forest at Oak Park high school field this Saturday November 4 with kickoff around 2 pm. WTAQ La Grange will broadcast play by play of the annual Prep Classic, its fourth Proviso game on the station with Pat Flanagan.

Paul Schutz aged 77 of 626 Beloit Avenue suffered a stroke on his 26th birthday while in the basement of his home. He was rushed to Oak Park Hospital for treatment.
Scout Troop 103 sponsored by Forest Park Kiwanis will hold a two day paper drive Saturday November 4 covering the business area and cardboard from local stores. Sunday November 5 canvassing residential sections. Arranging pickup for large quantities is available by calling Fred Rose at Forest Park. Proceeds will fund new equipment for the troop.

Proviso Township high school invites parents to an open house on Tuesday evening November 7 from 7 80 to 9 p.m. Freshmen get early dismissal at 1 15 p.m. and must bring parents to meet counselors and teachers. Monitors will assist, and buses will run regular routes with no special Elmwood Park service.
