George Warner Dies Founder of Warner Paint Co
George Warner founder of the Warner Paint company died at his Glen Ellyn home on May 21 at age 86. Funeral services were held May 28 at Zimmerman's chapel with interment in Forest Home Cemetery. He started a Chicago paint store in 1867 and built eight stores including Oak Park in 1938 and left three sons a daughter and six grandchildren.

Phone Co Files Rate Increase in Illinois Commissions
Under an order of the Winvis Commerce Commission the Illinois Bell Telephone Co filed temporary rate increases. Residential lines would rise about one cent per day and business lines about two cents daily subject to ICC approval. Local service rates would rise June 7 and 25 with no long distance changes.

Meter ordinance injunction prompts village damage suit
