Memorial Parade and Service Planned in Forest Park
The American Legion and VFW Posts of Forest Park sponsor a Memorial Day parade with 30 plus units including five bands and Sea Scout drill teams. The parade runs 1 p.m. from Circle and Randolph to the Park, followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service in Village Park with Cmdr. Adam L. Wozniak Jr. delivering the main address and Father Thomas J. Swade presiding.

Poisoned Cookies Claim Hastings Girls
Two young sisters Amelia and Amanda Hastings aged three and four, of 1404 Elgin, were treated at Oak Park hospital after eating cookies laced with roach poison found in their kitchen. The mother discovered them and alerted the police.

Sounds of Music Chancel Choir Holiday Show at First United

Mrs James Cusumano of 425 Hannah chairs the 1963 Hope Chest campaign running June 3 to 10. Volunteers will call on neighbors to raise funds for the Chicago Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society serving metropolitan and suburban Chicago. Burglar Sets Fire to Harrison Avenue Apartment
A burglar, reportedly angry over missed loot, started a fire at 2 PM Friday in an apartment at 7308 Harrison. The SVerzls occupied the unit. Entry was gained by forcing the main door. A pet dog died from smoke inhalation. Other units suffered smoke damage.
