Village commissioners held a thin adjourned session with limited attendance as they discussed hearings on utility rate increases by the Public Service Company and rail service rates for West Downs. The Acacia club of Forest Park met in regular session at the Municipal building on Tuesday evening May 18. Sixty five members attended out of a 160 joint membership. A committee of ten was empowered to secure a suitable site for a Masone temple. A tentative subscription gala showed a potential bond amount. less than half the membership present subscribed 11,000, suggesting a future fund of about 90,000. A Forest Park lodge meeting is set for May 25 at the Girelé Maganie. All members are urged to attend.
Forest Park American Legion leads a Memorial Day parade on Monday May 30 starting at Jackson Boulevard. Residents urged to march, with services at Madison Circle and River bridge, followed by automobile procession and aerial flyover. Memorial programs, school performances, and public notices outline safety and decorum for the event.
