Resignation of Forest Park School Superintendent
At an adjourned Forest Park Board of Education meeting on Thursday Dr James R Albert resigned as superintendent and will take a superintendent post in Dalton HI. Dr Albert was commended for service. The board adopted the Harper Row New Dimensions in English for grades 2-6 and approved a 2 cent per 100 assessed valuation levy for special education facilities. Next meeting is June 12, 1969.

Chief John Tobin Dies of Heart Attack
Chief John P. Tobin died Friday evening of a heart attack and was mourned at a 10 A.M. mass Tuesday at St Bernardine's Church. Tobin, a 1946 police recruit who rose to Chief in 1966, mentored youths, aided Camp Sherwood and served as a Boy Scout counselor. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Julius, and two brothers. Visitation was at Immermans and burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery Hillside.

Zoning Board Approves High Rises Decision Near Des Plaines
Forest Park Zoning Commission, with four votes for and three against, approved rezoning Des Plaines near Roosevelt for a 210 story apartment project totaling 120 units per building. Forest Home Cemetery Construction Co. opposed the measure, but the board declared the plan conforms to village code with changes and sent it to the village council for next week's meeting.
