Charles Troike Killed as Auto Turns Turtle
Charles Troike aged 30, of 691 Ganderson arc hue Forest Park, was instantly killed Saturday afternoon May 7 when the automobile in which he and nine relatives were riding turned turtle on the road to Delavan Lake several miles outside Dundee. Troike’s stepfather HH Lilly of 725 Jackson boulevard drove at the time. Leann, one of Troike’s daughters, was injured and later recovered consciousness. the car’s occupants included his wife and two daughters Leon and Gladys, and Mr and Mrs Lilly. Troike was sales manager for Guttman Candy Co. Funeral services were held Wednesday from his late residence with interment at Concordia. Survived by his widow, two daughters, his mother Mrs. Biby, and brothers Rudolph and John.

Obituary for August T. Einfeldt of Oak Park and River Forest
August T. Einfeldt, 72, longtime Oak Park River Forest resident and carpenter turned builder, died Wednesday at his home on Forest Avenue. Born in Germany in 1800s, he emigrated to America at age 10, married Aline Katherine Kifert, and had eleven children. A former village president and trustee, he built more homes in Oak Park than any contractor, owned Avenue State Bank shares, and left five daughters and a son Henry. Interment at Forest Home Cemetery followed. A racing car enthusiast, a later anecdotal note describes a Gullit Tanapeds Mo undercarriage vehicle owned by Henry, reflecting local lore.
