The Madison Street Boosters met at the Masonic Temple with Albright providing lunch. Attendees discussed Advertising or Dollar Day on May 22, the school picnic, and World’s Fair memberships sold by Oak Park Public Service. George J. Cruetz urged booster support for Forest Park through the Chamber of Commerce.
A military funeral honors Harold Morin 114 Lathrop avenue with a Ft. Sheridan firing squad present. Services were at Zimwertan's chapel on Madison Street and interment at Forest Home cemetery Thursday afternoon. Morin, born Chicago July 19 1875, was an Elevated line figure known for jovial manners and died by his own hand while despondent. He is survived by his wife, a camp fire guardian. A turnout of Elevated employees attended the ceremony.
Health Week was celebrated in Forest Park schools with poster and booklet displays by public school pupils and St Juln'a. The school nurse will exhibit works this weekend in the new store windows beside Madison street. Wolf Bros. sponsors space for the exhibit. The two best posters will be sent to the Chicago Tuberculosis Institute for the Cook daily contest.
Forest Park regular Republican club gathered Wednesday at President Commissioner Kurt Berliner s home. County Commissioners Kriz and Schmidt spoke as part of the event, with a discussion of the fall campaign and plats for a September picnic at Altenheim Grove.
Joseph Manning, Harvard street barber, relocates his shop one door east to 7424 Harvard Street and installs new equipment. It is described as one of the prettiest barber shops around with green decor, bright chairs, and mirrors designed to please patrons.
Fifteen year old John Collis of Forest Park sped to Roosevelt road landing field to welcome the Bremen flyers Baron von Huenefeld Captain Koch and Major Fitzmaurice as they touched down near Chicago. He arrived just after business men Daniel Schroeder Charles Trueline and Joseph Hurley. his timely dash earned him the title of being first to greet the German fliers. The soda shop helper is the younger son of Thomas Collis, Busy Bee Confectionery proprietor.
The Vanity shop moves to 7243 Madison Street in the Wolk building, occupying the former Lande Brus space for ten years. Owners George Platt and Bessie Mendelson announce a grand opening with walnut fixtures, 17 electric globes, new clerks, and a full line of ladies wear except shoes, inviting the public to inspect the expanded store.
Obituary notices record George Olsen of Forest Park dying at home May 1928 after 32 years in the community. Bertha Lega Olsen survives, with funeral at their residence conducted by Rev. Ira Livingston and interment at Mt. Olive. Also noted are Hilma Carter of 1239 Elgin Avenue who died May 4 1928 after an operation and illness, with services at Mary of the Celle church and burial at Forest Home, and Sarah Rock age 60 of 1041 Marengon Avenue who died May 10 1928 from injuries after being struck in Chicago, with an inquest held in a Chicago undertaking chapel.
Forest Park Chamber of Commerce directed by its board pledged to promote the Chicago World's Fair. Albert L. Hall was named World's Fair chairman for Forest Park. A strong turnout at Friday evening meeting discussed vital local matters to be released once plans are clearer.

The Co operative Flying club Inc plans to own and operate a new Travel Air plane with equal member shares. E Harmilton Lee of Forest Park and George S Meyers of Maywood will be instructors, bringing veteran piloting experience. Activities center at Checkerboard and government fields in Broadview.
Sol Rabinovich representing Hertzfield & Co monument dealers sought a Forest Park branch at Roosevelt and Troost. Building permit was denied as monument works fall under manufacturing, though other nearby sites existed before the zoning law. An appeal to the zoning appeal board is planned to challenge the ruling.
Grant school pupil Edward Giunta of 8A built a model Fort Dearborn at school. The exhibit shows officers headquarters soldiers quarters block houses and a powder house. He used matches and paste sticks and visited the Chicago Historical Society for reference.
The Playgrounds Commission announces tennis courts atop the village water reservoir on Jackson Boulevard. A 12 foot fence from Steel Fence Construction surrounds a 90 by 92 foot area with night lighting. Donations include four benches from American Vault Works. The commission plans further improvements, including a pool area and bath facilities for children, for this hot season.
Forest Park Boy Scouts meet at Grant School Sunday at 12:40 PM then march to Twenty second Street and Avenue to plant trees in a reforestation effort with the Issack War League and county board supplying trees. John Pilkington sent his truck to county nurseries Friday to move the trees to the planting site. Seth Gordon of the Walton League will speak as the program opens. Also noted is a Fathers and Sons fish dinner at Ovra’s with about 75 attendees and skeet club honors for breaking twenty targets.
The village council spent most of the session Monday evening reading a new lighting ordinance. It was a formal act to be finalized after a one week wait before passage. Volunteers of America were allowed to parade in Forest Park on May 12 and a Jewish organization received a similar permit for Sunday, limited to Desplaines Avenue south of Roosevelt Road. Health officer Dr. William Masslow and building inspector Augustus J. Schultz presented reports.
The National Ice Co stock transfer battle centers on Circle Avenue plant in Forest Park. President Titus Traffe of Chicago allegedly involved, with the case tied to a bankrupt Nee Coast Ice company and a $2,000 stock sale deemed worthless by former supporter J. M. Parnell. Police court questions and ice company records are pending.
