The Republicans of Praise Township under Bruce Benson celebrate his April 12 election as Township Committeeman by a two to one margin. The Trial Cafe on Wednesday May 25 at 7 pm will host the event with reservations made and a capacity crowd expected. Mayor Chas Has and other Republicans will attend to celebrate Benson.

During May 18 to 21 1938 a new Air Mail stamp will be issued and a Special Cadet flight from Forest Park to Chicago Municipal Airport will carry covers. Envelopes dispatched by plane will bear no special markings. Flynn Keeps Close Watch On Registration System
By Raymond T. O Keefe Jr county clerk Michael J Flynn plans to keep records accurate for the November poll urging voters to report address changes and has issued transfer blanks to town officials to speed updates. Registrations resume April 24 and will reopen May 2 in city township village and ward offices continuing to October 1. Flynn has received praise for the system which in the primary handled 190422 registrations with no complaints and no disenfranchised voters, with master files allowing a voter check in 30 seconds says Daniel Carey.

Carl Dietrichs Celebrate 40th Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Carl Dietrichs of 447 Selou averiae were surprised Sunday May 2 about 6 30 pm when they returned from an afternoon ride to find their home decorated with flowers. Two large tables overflowed with delicacies and 24 friends and relatives attended. Otto A Dietrich acted as master of ceremonies as the cake was cut and many long time friends sang. The evening featured a German style pinochle gathering with guests staying into the early hours, wishing the couple many more happy anniversaries.
