Complete Pool Parking Lot to Serve 175 Cars
A new parking lot near the swimming pool will accommodate 175 cars and stretch between Beloit and Hannah just south of the Great Western tracks. It is built of crushed stone and may be blacktopped later. The Park Board says costs are paid by the pool venue request and it should ease summer traffic near the pool and improve southside parking.Plans began four years ago with land acquisition from the Great Western railway after negotiations. Park Board members are Neubiser president, Lou Melcher, Leonard Thiesse, Bill Coudou, and Frank Sible. The lot will be available for autolst when the pool opens on June 16.

Ground Breaks On $480,000 TB Building In Desplaines
Digging started this week at Desplaines and Jackson for a $480,000 TB district clinic and survey building. The two story facility will house staff now at 7401 Madison and Dr Edward A Piszcrek says it will be air conditioned with ample parking. Completion is expected by next January and the site will be central for the county operations.

Centennial parade to feature 100 antique autos
Forest Park marks its centennial with a three hour parade on June 24 showcasing 100 antique autos including Hawthorne-Melody six horse rig and Swift Co red wagon.
