Forest Park residents gathered at Village Hall to form a Little League chapter for ages 9 to 12. A film titled This is Little League impressed attendees and a Chicago sponsor spoke on the program. Officers were to be elected in a following meeting at the council chambers.
Corporal Roy Rezba 21 son of Mr and Mrs Ladd Rezba 834 Elgin has been wounded in Korea. The young corporal is hospitalized in Japan. Roy entered service February 10 1951 and was sent overseas this past March.
Pfc. Marvin L. Post, 041 Mar engo, was awarded the Meritorious Unit Emblem while serving in Korea with the 7th Quartermaster Company of the 7th Infantry Division. The unit was cited for outstanding achievement in supplying divisional units over six months.
Tom Schrenser aged 10 of 908 Thomas Street suffered finger burns while playing with fireworks on Sunday. He was taken to St. Anne's hospital for treatment.
In Korea, Corporal Charles E. Hoffer 30 serves in the First Marine Air Wing. Son of Edward and an Mgrs. family, he enlisted April 23, 1951. Basic training was at San Diego with further mechanic training in Jacksonville and Memphis. He is a graduate of St John Lutheran and Proviso. Address on record: Cpl. Charles E. Airman Third Class Wayne York son of Mrs Betty York of 582 Des Plaines has reached the Far East and is assigned to the 20th Weather Squadron of the Military Air Transport Service. He is a ground weather equipment operator previously stationed at Wheeler Air Force Base and is now serving at a weather station on Honshu, Japan.
Richard Bengard aged 244 of 1140 Marengo was treated by a doctor Tuesday after a dog he was playing with bit him on the cheek and lip.
A ten year old boy, James Heidenway, was hit by a car while playing near Beloit and Lathrop in Beloit. He suffered a compound fracture of the right leg, several teeth knocked out, and possible internal injuries and was taken to Oak Park hospital.
Dog owners urged to pur chase licenses before June 1. Police will canvass the town and levy penalties on delinquent buyers. Current fees are $3 for female dogs and $2 for male dogs.
Pane Pain Delmar Panzloff of 224 Lathrop treated for cuts after punchinga front door glass pane to gain entry to his home. He was locked aute.
Allan Robinson of 913 Elgin was bitten on the top by a dog in an alley Tuesday. The dog is under observation.
Nevada Marine Sgt James H Hansen Jr son of Mr and Mrs James H Hansen 615 Elgin witnessed an atomic explosion and joined a mock assault near the impact area. He is among 2000 Marines in the latest atomic tests from a provisional battalion from Camp Pendleton Calif flown to the desert site. Hansen graduated from Proviso and enlisted in February 1951.
The Forest Park annual picnic for school children will be held June 4 with mayor, commissioners, police and fire chiefs in a parade. The Forest Park School Band will provide music, principals will distribute free candy drinks and rides, and bus transportation will be provided for south side students. Parochial students are invited to participate and Ray Hanson is the contact for more information.
Four local youths have landed in Korea and joined units north of the 38th parallel. Pfe. Arthur Flagg, Pfe. Richard Archambault, Pfc. Ted Juern, and Corp. Gene Warner are the arriving group. Archambault and Juern are assigned to infantry, Flagg to artillery, Archambault to a service battalion, with all four having attended Proviso High School.

Returns for 1952 must be filed within 10 days of receipt. failure to file may lead to an estimated value plus a 50 percent penalty. Twelve year old Donald Stenson of 1017 Circle was rushed by police ambulance to Oak Park hospital after he fell while playing at the new building under construction at 000 Hannah. He sustained a fractured leg.
