RTA Approves West Towns Bus Rehab Contract
The Regional Transportation Authority board approved a contract with West Towns Bus Company to rehabilitate 51 buses for lease to RTA and other suburban carriers. Rehabilitation will cost up to 5000 per bus, with first units due in about three weeks. West Towns will receive 51 new larger buses under the deal.

Forest Park leader Fred C. Becker dies at 81
Fred C. Becker a former Forest Park mayor and Reich and Becker Agency founder died after an attack at a Kiwanis Club meeting. He was 81 and died at Oak Park Hospital following a 57 year career in Forest Park and pending 50th wedding anniversary and 50th Kiwanis year. World War II mayoral service is noted.

Forest Park parents plan to ask the school district on April 8 to provide bus service for junior high students.
