Youth center success in La Grange supports Forest Park aims
The Lyons Township Youth Corporation in La Grange runs a youth center for 14 to 18 year olds with 1100 members and owns its building without debt. It costs 7000 dollars yearly to operate, funded by dues, guest fees, and a 2500 dollar annual public show. The center faced lease issues but raised 25000 dollars to buy the building, preserving The Corral with amenities like a jukebox and snack bar. Forest Park teachers hail the effort as building better Americans and civic initiative.
