The 1966 Little League registration is set for March 12 and 13 from 1 to 4 PM on the village hall second floor. Boys ages 8 to 12 must register, with a parent or guardian if first time. a $2 registration fee covers insurance for 1966. Contact Bob Dowd at 366-0981 for details.
Walther Lutheran High School presents its annual concert by the Concert Band at 8 p.m. Sunday in the school gym under director Omer Reese. The program features works by Porter, Gould, Copland, and Brahms along with The March of Bacchus from Sylvia and the Egmont Overture. The event also includes Handel pieces played by the string ensemble.
An invitation to a March 11 Tea at Girl Scout Headquarters for all adult Girl Scouts and council volunteers honors Suzanne Friedley the new Executive Director of Lone Tree Area Girl Scout Council. Friedley has served since October 1963 as a Field Adviser and as Acting Executive Director since April 1965 before departing for a national conference in New York City.
The 18th annual Bridge of Honor and Charter Dance for Sea Scout Ship WASP 100 honored Congressman Harold R. Collier of the 10th District. Guests included Forest Park Mayor Howard H. Mohr, BSA officials, naval personnel, and Sea Scout ships from Forest Park Chicago Berwyn and Harvey. Collier presented an American flag flown over the Capitol as part of the event.
The Social Security Administration and North America Savings invite all to a Medicare Social Security community meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the North America Savings Community Room at 7525 Madison. Paula E. Zwintscher and Dick Dries will participate. Free parking, Madison Street entrance, sign up for Medicare, and light refreshments after.
Forest Park Woman's Club will host Musical Variations performed by Proviso East High School music groups including a Trumpet Trio Footlighters Sixteens Easternaires boy ensemble and String Ensemble with Forest Park students John Wulff Pat Kelly Larry Sallee Terri Wick and Nancy Elwell. Annual Day begins 11 a.m. at St Peters Lutheran Church Hannah at Adams lunch at noon program about 1 30 p.m. Reservations 50 cents by March 12. Five members also attended the Jane Addams Party March 2 in Chicago with Art Linkletter guest and RC Cola funds Hull House restoration.
