Freiwald Dies at Recreation Bowling Alleys
John A. Freiwald 46 of Forest Park died suddenly Friday evening February 24 1939 at Recreation Bowling Alleys 400 Desplaines Ave while bowling with his Roorkers Klub league team. He was born September 24 1892 and worked as an installation man for Illinois Bell. He is survived by his wife Ella Kasch Freiwald two sisters and four brothers. funeral at St Pauls Lutheran with Rev Walter A Burelais and burial at Concordia cemetery.

Proviso Host To Musicians District Contest Details
Proviso plans host ensembles and soloists from Cook and Lake counties for the District Solo and Ensemble contest on March 11 with bands and orchestras performing March 31. First place winners advance to the state contest at La Salle Peru on April 15. Proviso’s ensembles earned top state and national ratings previously. Grade school bands also compete March 1. Admission ranges by session and group.

Behnken to Speak at St John’s Lent Service

Forest Park voters returned Mayor Tusuey with 2236 votes while Collis earned 1629 and Letvelt 1460 as eight commissioners contended for runoff spots.
