St John Ev Lutheran Picnic Scheduled as Weekend Event
St John Evangelical Lutheran church will host its annual school and Sunday school picnic at Altenheim grove on Saturday June 17. A parade will depart Madison and Circle at 11 p.m. led by a fire truck and including village officials, Legion and VFW color guards, the Harmony band, church groups, and school children. Prizes, games, rides, music, color movies, and meals by the Ladies Aid will entertain attendees.

Recreation Board Signs Contract to Start Work on Playground Project
Forest Park Recreation Board signed a contract with Shepherd Company of Maywood to begin improvements at the proposed playground at 16th and Circle The Crowley. Work will include blacktopping the north 50 feet for tennis, volleyball and basketball, resurfacing and landscaping the remainder, grading and improving the baseball diamond, and plans for a shelter house and fence. The board consists of Melcher Genwald Lambke Jackel and Sible.
