Forest Park picnic draws 2000 plus amid chamber effort
About 2,000 area school children and workers attended Forest Park Chamber of Commerce picnic night. Coupons funded hot dogs cotton candy and treats while Animal Kingdom acts pony rides and games entertained youngsters. The event revived a local tradition with $1,500 spent this year and aims to show youths they are valued and may encourage future village loyalty.

Wins Junior Achievement Award President of the Year
Jeff Branecki of 1103 Troost Forest Park won the President of the Year award in the Junior Achievement Chicago competition. He led Rainbow JA company, counseled by Western Electric at the West Suburban JA Center, and is among 239 JA presidents in the Chicago area. Branecki, Fenwick High School senior, was chosen from five finalists by Chicago Chapter Young Presidents Organization judges and will advance to nationals in Bloomington Indiana.
