The Greater Chicago Chapter of Muscular Dystrophy sponsors a summer camping period for children with muscular dystrophy from August 11 to 21 at Camp Reinberg in Palatine. Most campers use wheelchairs, so older teenage boys and young adults are urged to volunteer as attendants. For details call RA 6-4262.
Ralph H. Weber of 612 Lathrop, former District Commander, has been named to the National A-Member All-American Team of District Commanders after a nomination by State Commander Harold W. Hal. He and wife Billie will attend the National Convention in Seattle with special privileges. Weber also takes on the post of Dept. Divisional Membership Chairman overseeing districts 3-4-5-13 and 14 as the organization plans a membership drive.
Proviso township high schools report contributions to the C C Taggart Memorial Scholarship Fund totaling almost $2,000 to establish a fund to aid students preparing to teach. If large enough, Proviso East and Proviso West may alternate benefiting students. Contributions are invited at Provigo East High in Maywood.
Beginning his career in Proviso in 1919 Taggart led the Science department and became assistant superintendent in 1935. At his 1958 retirement a large banquet honored him as Mr Proviso. A memorial scholarship fund was proposed. He died May 27 1963.

Forest Park church First Presbyterian undergoes major overhaul. Renovation aims to beautify the edifice with new steps to Sunday School entrances, roof work, white window casings and doors, and silver gray shingle facade replacing 50 years of white clapboard. Local leaders emphasize drawing new members and funding from a special appeal.
