Four Die In Auto Collision At Le Moyne And Halen

Four people died after two cars, a Cadillac and an Oldsmobile, collided at Le Moyne and Halen Avenues on Monday afternoon. A fifth person died at Oak Park hospital Tuesday night. several others were seriously injured. Investigators noted high speeds and complex license plate tampering involving the Cadillac, Oldsmobile, and a Nash. An inquest was held at Cowboy's River Forest parlors Tuesday afternoon.

North Avenue Paving to Begin This Year

A county public service hearing addressed North avenue paving as a 200 foot highway west of the Laysplattes river. Warest Park officials plan a two week test of disposal costs at Marin heim road near Grind avenue to set a per family collection rate. Commissioner Jans and Linus Oswald assist Mayor Gott. Library Use Expands in June Report

The library operated twenty five days in June with an average daily circulation of 102. The largest daily total reached 157 and the smallest 36. The month’s total issues were 2556, including 232 adult fiction and 346 juvenile titles. A gain of 307 over June 1928 accompanied 84 books mended and 113 overdue notices. Twenty six new borrowers joined early in the month, bringing the total registered to 2363. One book purchased and twenty received as gifts, 56 discarded, now list 7452 volumes on hand. The library also received 63 current periodicals.
