A Cook County committee appointed by Governor Emmerson outlines a $19,000,000 highway program for the next two years. The plan targets 430 miles of roads within thirty miles of the city, funded by gasoline tax revenues and limited to county routes outside the city.
Freeport to observe the first anniversary of Lincoln Douglas debate with a dedication of a monument titled Lincoln the Debater. Gift by W O P Rawleigh, placed in Stephenson County seat. Also notes about white and black auto license color schemes and state secretary James F. Eamerson.
A damaged dispatch notes that Twenty-second street opens west of Desflaines providing relief to congestion. East and west road access is restored except Lake street closed between Mannheim road and Twenty-first street and North avenue shut between the river and Elathursyy, never opened before.
A recent survey shows 4414 661 people reside in Chicago area suburbs outside the city. The city proper houses about 630000, totaling over five million for city and suburbs. Suburban population last year was estimated at 1,187,517 by Strang company.
Four people died after two cars, a Cadillac and an Oldsmobile, collided at Le Moyne and Halen Avenues on Monday afternoon. A fifth person died at Oak Park hospital Tuesday night. several others were seriously injured. Investigators noted high speeds and complex license plate tampering involving the Cadillac, Oldsmobile, and a Nash. An inquest was held at Cowboy's River Forest parlors Tuesday afternoon.

A group of Forest young men will depart from Forest Park by the Great Western railway for a day trip to Dubuque and Cassville aboard The Capitol on the Mississippi. They will sail back the same day, returning to Forest Park about midnight, listing participants including John Schmitz Dick Tevester Fred Troester John Chiehoan Franklin Hosler and several others.

She explains the act was nine years ago and asks forgiveness, promising to refrain from further wrongdoing. The letter, dated July 42, 1929, is printed as a local paper notice.
The Ed Hoda forward operation expands into a spacious new building raising total space to about 125000 square feet as about 400 employees join a growing workforce. The three story structure at 123 Marriventreet features a stone entrance and modern sprinkling and water systems.
