Forest Park Hosts Special Police School
A three day training at Forest Park VFW hall drew 28 officers from 13 west suburban towns to learn Identi Kit a new composite device for identifying suspects. Captain Ed Dennis led the course with local officials praising the VFW Post 7181 for support.

Ray Hanson longtime owner of Hansons Sport Shop at 7449 Madison Street died last Saturday at his Riverside home from a heart attack. He started the shop in 1946 after buying it from the Lincoln Bros and earlier ran Hanson Hall in Cicero with his wife Eleanor. Known for fishing tips and hunting advice he was a beloved figure in Forest Park and the western suburbs. His passing leaves a void for customers who relied on his knowledge of hot spots from Washington Island to Florida and the Mississippi River.
