Former Fire Lieutenant Dies After Illness at Loyola Hospital
Raymond E. Weatherford Jr., a Forest Park fireman since 1960 and lieutenant since 1969, died Tuesday at Loyola Hospital after a long fight with lung cancer. He retired on disability and left a wife Arlene and two children, Robert and Laura, five weeks shy of his 36th birthday. He had been active, supporting a testimonial dinner for retired Chief Delwyn Mardirsek, and had written to the REVIEW from recovery.
