J Schwab Dies After Active Life in Forest Park
Jacob Achwah a wealthy Forest Park resident and director of Forest Park State Bank died at his home on January 17 after a battle with pneumonia. Born in Stuttgart on August 18 387 he moved to Chicago in 1538 then Forest Park in 1390 for work. He built wealth in real estate and Florida ventures, established a trust fund for relatives in Germany, and funded local water works. He held bank directorship since 1917 and belonged to multiple fraternal and civic groups. Funeral set for Saturday January 16 at 2 PM at St Pauls Lutheran with burial at Waldheim Cemetery. Survived by second wife Mrs Minna Kraft and several brothers in Germany and Forest Park.

Burglars to Grand Jury in Unger Case
Two colored youths aged about 16 to 19 were jailed on $4,060 bonds after confessing to burglarizing the Jacob and Unger drug store on Rooseriit road and admitting further robberies in Maywood and Chicago. William Brown of Maywood and Emanuel Crawford of Chicago confessed to multiple burglaries including the Tadits berber shop and a Washington school robbery, with Police linking their confessions to twenty four Maywood thefts. State’s Attorney T. W. Skurrett and Judge Witt presided as the boys pleaded guilty and were held to the grand jury. Crawford was later arrested in Chicago and transferred to Forest Park, while Brown’s family watched the trial.
