John Rossi Sr the Italian Consul General Bulseppe Ayitabele awarded a gold medal and cross of Knight of Vittorio Veneto for WWI service. Ceremonies held at Chateau Foral December 27 1970. Rossi born 1893 in Genoa Italy. immigrated to Chicago 1921. served as Italian Consul secretary and translator. in 1951 helped organize Italian Federation Chicago area branches. St Michael Church first branch and St Bernardine's branch followed. The federation now has 21 branches and over 2000 members. 20th anniversary of the latter to be celebrated in May honoring Rossi.
