Snow disruption forces Forest Park Public School commencement to move to Balloom Building at Amusement Park. Francis Blair, U S Education Superintendent, to deliver address. Enrollment and entry rules issued, health and birth certificates required for newcomers.
Forest Park Bank held its annual meeting Tuesday evening. The entire board of directors was reelected, including Albert Roos, Dr. H. B. Jonking, Jaco Schwab, August Thode, Frederick B. Roon, Hermann Jacob, Heruign H. dann, Henry C. Bleak, and Albert C. Roos.
A Sunday matinee in Chicago drew a lively crowd as a female admirer erupted in applause when performer Poulter appeared. Poulter, a former Grace Hayward Stock Company favorite, triggered cheers and memories of past productions at the Waltersn top theatre.
After last weekend’s heavy snow, Forest Park faced a storm of critique aimed at the Village Board street department. It notes no public funds were spent on snow removal, explains plowing relied on horse teams and middle-road plowing, and suggests adopting city style ordinances fining residents for uncleared walks to prevent repeats.
Proviso High School faced a snowy Monday with 64.3 percent attendance and few teacher absences. Students enjoyed events including a piano solo by Lowell Derrick and a recent basketball win over Seminary. Local residents anticipate the Community club event Character Dirty to be held at the club home on January tenth. Prizes for the most original costume will be awarded as members strive for creativity and a playful take on formal attire.
Mr and Mrs Knickrehm entertained the Silent Fourteen club at their Elgin Avenue home on Saturday evening January 6th for the hostess twenty third birthday. The affair featured a lively program and music followed by a late served menu at 11:46. The club looks forward to another such celebration next year.
Grace School pupils and Forest Park school leaders visit Proviso Township High School to observe training facilities and discuss education. A previous praise of high school education contrasts with today’s emphasis on practical training and its role in youths' success.
Arrangements are set by Proving Lodge No 245 for a Moose event at Forest Tar Ballroom on Saturday evening January 12. The program includes vaudeville acts vocal and instrumental numbers with Pohl’s fala orab estā to provide music. Admission is by ticket in advance from lodge members or the secretary Chas Telmdicke. The entertainment begins at 8 30 sharp.

Two obituaries note the death of Mrs William J Von der Lehr of 208 Lathrop avenue River Montreal and Frederika Mac Lachlan at the German Old People's Home. Mrs Von der Lehr, aged, leaves husband Norman, son Norman, daughters Grace and Mrs H McClerey, with funeral at Oak Ridge cemetery. relatives from Cambria Portage and Wis attend. Frederika Mac Lachlan, born in Germany May 2 1838, resided at Twinly avenue near the Des Plaines river, burial at Graceland after services January 10.
Forest Park Business Men association met at the Forest Park Slat Bank hall 7401 Madison Street on Friday January 21 1918 at 8 p m. The meeting addressed federating the Forest Park Federated Charities and other important matters urging clubs societies and organizations in Purest Park War to participate. A representative detailed information on the meeting’s outcome will be published later.
The annual Harlem State Bank stockholders meeting on Tuesday evening January 18 elected Conrad Michalsky to a position held by Frank Troon. Fred Ewald was elected to the Harlem Safety Deport Co. position. no other changes. Officers: President Charles Himner, vice president F He Retoh, secretary-treasurer W F Gronser.
An old time social at the Rome of Mrs. William Simierman on Circle Avenue Whdami Afrrndon featured Mystic Ten entertaining the Sdatamere club guests. Mr A Shower, owner of a dry goods place on Manon Street, attended as guest of honor. Laughter filled the party as stories and jokes sparked merriment amid snow and cheerful dispositions. The host and guests enjoyed a festive meet in the afternoon with tables of rete words and playful humor.
Officer Jack Hermanson of the Boe tal Park Police Force helped capture a Cicero murderer after a late night incident on January 6. The suspect, a driver for Hearty J. Mohr, killed a man to steal $500, with the arrest made at 1309 South Fittleth Avenue Cicero after cooperation with local police and a telegraph inquiry. The suspect was bound over to the grand jury on burglary and murder charges.
Mike Erlich, a 9 section laborer of Franklin Park, was bitten by a Boo Use tracn on Tuesday January 3 while riding a handcar with a foreman. He died en route to Oak Park hospital as a jury found death due to whack and injuries caused while in performance of his duties. He leaves no relatives. funeral will be held Saturday from Clatter's undertaking room.
Socialist party of Forant Park hosts a Saturday 8 p m social at Roh Wayne ballroom Madison and Desplaines. Event features a speech by a renowned Chicago figure and a joint performance by local singing groups. Tickets available at Bohwasa hall with proceeds for party activities.
The Yama Yama Girls met at Mrs. Dorothy Crawford’s home, 426 Pordinang Avenue, Thoraday attare Boon, January lat. They spent an enjoyable afternoon playing cinch, with prizes awarded to Mrs. Tony DeBlroy for first, Mrs. Martha Beagers for second, and Mrs. Esther Lange for consolation. Refreshments followed, and all look forward to the next meeting at Mr Notud Hoffman’s home.
