Charles W. Meseke retired after twenty years as Village Clerk of Forest Park. The Village Council praised his thorough service and appointed William McKenzie to replace him as Clerk. McKenzie, former building commissioner, pledged to continue the office’s efficient operations as Meseke steps down. Robert Dowd presented a resolution to appoint Herbert Petersohn as street department superintendent.

Village Council Awards Renovation Contracts for Forest Park Water
The Forest Park village council awarded three contracts totaling 959139.54 to renovate the half century old water system. George Harden gets 314250.00 for remodeling the pumping station at Hannah and the Expressway. Pittsburg Des Moine Steel Co. wins 250522.00 for two 500000 gallon tanks at the CTA garage area and 16th and Hannah. Sam Cercignilla secures 394367.54 to lay nearly six miles of new water mains.

Henry C. Hank Meyer 84 longtime Forest Park village commissioner for 16 years died Friday. A Miehle Goss Dexter foreman for 43 years he retired in 1951. Services held Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Survived by two daughters a sister three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Altar and Rosary Society Plans January Meetings
The Altar and Rosary Society of St Bernardines will meet January 9 after devotions at the church in the school hall B15 Elgin. Father Slobig of the Asscholian Catholic Priests will speak. On January 17 a card and banco party is set for 1:30 pm in the same hall with a $1.25 donation.
