Two representatives from the territory between Chicago and Elgin met Governor Smail to secure aid for reconstructing the Lake street road from Chicago city limits to Elgin. Funds and state aid are proposed to cover the route via Oak Park Forest Park Maywood Melrose Park Addison and Elgin. Members of the Chicago Motor Club the Elgin Motor Club and county and township officials attended.
The Ladles Aid society of St Vetera church announces a chop alley dinner on Thursday March 20 from 6 40 to 7 80 oclock in the evening at the church. The public is invited to attend.
Local landlords report rent hikes in multiple suburb parcels. Apartments in a corner building on Desplaines Avenue and Adana see rises from 20 to 40 dollars, with other two and four flat buildings also adjusted. German A. Kivesaner notes modest increases. Andrew Koeppel of 41 Circle Avenue was severely injured February 10 when his automobile collided with a streetcar at the corner of 1Usorge and Forty-eighth Street. He spent Sunday in a hospital, returned home Saturday, and is able to be back at wake again after receiving twenty eight stitches and a blood transfusion to save his life.
The community club invites members and friends to a clubhouse entertainment event tonight Saturday. A regular meeting is planned for Tuesday evening March 3.
