Mrs. J. C. Bras and her mother Mrs. A. J. Payette have bought the River Forest restaurant on Lake Bear Lathrop from Mrs. C. Kutz and took possession Monday. Kate Rogers Katz had previously run it and sought to exit due to a daughter's illness, noting the goat patronage that proves River Forest can sustain a restaurant. The new managers will maintain policy and add unlealy on Sunray. Brasfield and Payette provide addresses in Forest Park and Lathrop.
Henry Zahn was re elected vice president of the state building inspectors association at last week’s Springfield meeting. Zahn presided in the absence of the organization president during the year’s convention.

Marco Marciotta of 1114 Lathrop Avenue died Wednesday morning at his date. Born in Italy sixty two years ago he had lived in this country for many years. Survived by his wife and five children Peter Mary Paladino Thomas Trapanese Jennie Trapanese and ten grandchildren. Funeral at St Bernardite's Church at 10 a m Saturday with burial at Mr Caetnel.
Mr and Mrs Theodore Lobstein returned from Florida where they dodged winter for weeks. They picked up Mrs Lobstein s niece Margaret Hochmuth in West Palm Beach and took her to Cuba via Miami. A 21 story warped steel structure in Miami must be torn down. Travel costs in Florida were lower than last year with cheaper tolls hotels and meals. The Lobsteins plan Havana ties for American visitors. They stopped in Detroit briefly then traveled to Canada for frog legs.
A local concern reports shipments to Sand and South America during the previous year. The firm’s naptha product, marketed mainly through jobbers, is shipped in barrels and large cans and requires expert handling for household use. The Sidney Wilson case was postponed for a week due to the death of Analatant Mtule's attorney Nicholas's mother. The delay allows Mr. Nicholas to attend and prevent the state’s case. The hearing, slated for last Sunday, will be rescheduled to a later date.
A Valentine daughter arrived at the home of Mr and Mrs Harold Pearson 130 Brown avenue on February 14. She will be named Virginia Jean. Mrs Pearson is the daughter of Mr and Mrs H S Lauck.
The First Annual Local Art Exhibit and Tea will convene Friday afternoon in Municipal Building Council Chamber. Forest Park residents showcase school and adult artwork, plus antiques and Objets D Art from local collectors. A program features Miss Wilhelmina Marm on everyday beauty, with prizes and honorable mentions for poster entrants. Tea closes the afternoon hosted by local hostesses.
Water supply in Forest Park was shut off for several hours on Thursday afternoon to clean sediment and scales from the reservoir. After cleaning, the engineer struggled to create suction to operate the pump and called in firefighters. An attempt to connect to Oak Park mains failed, leaving residents to cope until the lead plant was restored.
