Sgt Zuleg Shot in Accident in Forest Park
Sau Ehner Zuleg of the Forest Park police died at Oak Park hospital from a gunshot wound suffered earlier while preparing for departmental target practice. An inquest ruled accidental death. Zuleg, 36, served nearly 21 years after joining in 1927. He is survived by his wife Edna Meyer. Funeral services were held at Zimmerman's chapel with burial at Waldheim cemetery.

Bat in Basement Killed by Police After Long Battle
Sam Slatky found a large bat in his basement at 642 Elgin on a Sunday morning. The creature squealed and fought as two Forest Park officers lifted a bucket and finally shot it after a half hour. The bat's wing span measured 18 inches. how it entered remains unknown.

Arthur Dobbeck, a Forest Park resident, died after a stroke while traveling near Algonquin. Born May 15 1899 in Cosie, he lived in Forest Park since 1924 with his wife Catherine Bemus. He was active in Kiwanis, American Legion posts, the recreation board, and the paint decorating trade with Zapon and Ferro Enamel. He leaves two daughters, four brothers, and his wife. services were held Feb 12 at St Bernardine. Interment at Queen of Heaven.
