Methodist All Church Dinner at Forest Park Church

The Forest Park Methodist Church hosts its Annual All Church Dinner Friday from 6 to 7 PM with no charge. A free will offering supports church expenses and attendees can meet Church School teachers and officers while Cherub and Junior Choirs sing and a Girls Sextet provides music. Community Sing follows as movies entertain children during the adults' program.

Infant Welfare Discusses Funds and Plans

The Forest Park Infant Welfare board met February 3 at Mrs Henry Jacobs home to discuss fundraising due to Community Chest shortfall. Circle 14 reported a 50 gift, Circle 13 outlined a Bunny Brothers tour for April 25, and committee nominations were set with a Spring luncheon chair appointed. The next meeting moves to March 9 at Mrs John Kusenda s home due to Ash Wednesday.

Key West Training for Naval Reserve Structural Mechanic James F Mosley

James Frank Mosley of the Naval Reserve anti submarine squadron completed two weeks of active duty training at Naval Air Station Key West Florida. He served as a Structural Mechanic in the squadron Aircraft Maintenance Crew. The Mosleys live at 435 Thomas with their daughter Suzan Marie. In civilian life he works as a mechanic for Power Equipment Co Elmhurst.

Sansone's Donates 140 to March of Dimes Drive

Sansone's of Sansone's at 7206 Circle reports it turned in 140.00 to the March of Dimes drive. Patrons at the tavern and liquor store contributed the funds. Local tavern owners supported the campaign with strong efforts. A full report will follow.

Proviso Township Abates All Taxes for 1950

Proviso Township will not collect any General Assistance Poor Relief tax for 1950, nor the Corporate Town Fund levy, and the Road and Bridge levy was also abated. Clerk Fred J. Rose and Auditor Board members report the move marks the fourth straight year with no town taxes and the seventh time in 11 years for Poor Relief abatement, with an estimated $11 saving on a $300 bill for 1959.

Trace Abbott to Perform Solo at St Valentine Ice Show

Miss Trace Abbott six year old Tiny Tot skater from Mearlengo and pupil of Michael Kirby Ice Skating School will perform a solo at the St Valentine Ice Show at the Forest Park Rink. She has skated since age three and appeared at the Boulevard Room Conrad Hilton Itasca Winter Carnival and Michael Kirby Ice Carnival Benefit Chicago Stadium. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tracy Abbott with a brother Steven. Show starts at 7 pm with public skating 8 to 10 pm. Admission is 25 cents for children and $1 for adults.
