Forest Park Girl Reports From Oklahoma Tour
Pond Creek Oklahoma December 10 1921 Dear friends at home I write about our travels in the lyceum field through Forest Park Review. We crossed the Quark mountains to Dilewoor and saw large pits with trees and hills and a spring with delicious water. We met Veltus Fike our director and many ripe fruits though we did not care for them. We have been in Oklahoma since November 14 and like it there with fast progress. We gave a concert at Miami in a new grand school building funded by the Lyceum course proceeds. On November 23 at Carney an old fashion sketch led to a dress bag theft but two boys were caught and our things returned. December 1 we visited Fownes Bills ranch near Lawn a large house with Indian rooms and a railroad view. December 8 at Hominy the superintendent and an Indian band guided us through a town with Osage Indians in modern homes andRemarkable blanket shawls. The Osage are skilled in saxophone music and wind their own wealth. many own wells and government pays them. We played in towns larger than before and hoped to reach Repulpy soon.
