December 9 1917 marked a milestone as the Forest Park Methodist Episcopal church reached its fundraising goal. The final balance of one hundred dollars was raised in twenty minutes after W J Cunningham spoke, securing a debt free building fund for a new church at Adams and Thomsom streets costing about ten thousand dollars. The finance committee led by Cunningham includes P J Gualifoux P Planta of Forest Park and Coon Rogers and others. Pastor Bloomalit praised the effort and urged continued support for the project.

Mrs Rose Echwars a Forest Park resident for twenty years and former owner of Rosigls cafe and lounge died Monday at Garfield hospital from pneumonia. Born in Cashton Wisconsin she was 42. Her husband L Bohwasg died a year ago. Survived by two children Joneptine and William. She was active in the Forest Park Dusiéas Men’s Association and the Ratsl-Liquor Dealers association. Funeral services at St Luke’s Catholic Church with a solemn Mass. Interment at Forest Home Cemetery.
