Steers Celebrates 35th Service Anniversary
Fred T. Steers of 213 Circle marked his 35th service anniversary with Commonwealth Edison on a Wednesday. He began in 1929 in the meter department, later moved to lighting and electrical sales, and now serves in the Chicago Central division power service. Steers, a World War II veteran, belongs to the Commonwealth Edison Post of the American Legion and has lived in Forest Park 45 years. He and his wife Helen have two children Bonnie Sue and Thomas. Bonnie Sue is married to Harry Litka of Melrose Park.

Jim Furr was elected president of the Forest Park Pony League this week after seven years in the program as coach and manager and head of the Dance program. Fred OConnor resigned as Pony League president ending a 12 year run shaping the youth baseball program.
