Gas-poisoning at home after basement flue leak
Family of Robert B Barton at 53 Thatcher Avenue narrowly escaped serious gas exposure when a malfunctioning basement flue connected to a gas water heater filled the house with gas. Doctors diagnosed gas poisoning as relatives grew ill on return from Oak Park. Public Service Co. workers and River Forest official George W Foster investigated and found the gas source. Upcoming River Forest Chapter Eastern Star meeting set for December 12 at the Women’s Club with officer election and temple move plans, followed by a social hour and birthday celebrations. The Star will skip meetings until after the Christmas holiday.
