Luminaria Lights Up Forest Park Holiday Spirit
Luminaria kits go on sale at Forest Park Community Center on December 11 12 18 and 19. Each set includes five candles paper bags sand and costs 1 with buyers asked to bring containers for the sand. The project funds the Community Center and celebrates a southwest Christmas tradition with local volunteers.

Forest Park Center benefits from plate sale in North America effort
Forest Park based institution will receive half of a $1 fee from instant 1977 Illinois license plate service at North America Federal Savings. Motorists will get instant plates and forest park vehicle stickers at the counter with no extra charge. Mayor Mohr praises the program aiding center operations without tax money. Service begins Thursday morning.

Local 7-Eleven Becomes Drop-off Point for Toys for Tots
The 23rd Toys for Tots campaign designates 7-Eleven Food Stores in the Chicago area as official drop-off points beginning December. Donors may deposit new or good condition toys in barrels inside stores at locations including Riverside, Forest Park, Oak Park, Maywood, and Kenilworth. Toys will be collected weekly by official Toys for Tots trucks and distributed to over 100 agencies in time for Christmas.
