The Forest Park Kiwanis Club sponsors a rummage sale on Sunday August 27 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in Homer's Restaurant parking lot at 7340 Madison Street. Co chairs Homer Bale and Jack Conway urge donations and volunteer help with pickup service through Saturday. Funds benefit Kiwanis Drug Alert programs educating students about narcotics. Passes Away Herman Wogerich A Proviso East Star
Herman Wogerich, 19, prominent For est Park athlete and Proviso East football captain, died of a heart attack on Thursday. A Yale scholar with a 98.4 entrance score, he earned all star honors from Chicago Daily News and all state recognition from the Tribune. He starred in Little League and Kiwanis football, and helped Proviso East reach acclaim.

Voter Registration Residency Rule Shortened by Court
A federal court order in the Northern District of Duinois cancels the six-month state residency requirement for voter registration. Now all applicants must have at least thirty days of residency in the district or precinct. Voters are advised to disregard earlier six month references on forms and instructions.
