Fire department and police association host a Saturday benefit in Altenheim Grove to raise funds toward a new engine. Door open 2 pm, program through 7 pm with a dance at 5 pm, red hot stand and ice cream booth, prize races for children and adults, with bids for the engine to be opened Monday night by the council.
Bt John School in connection with St Jon s Lutheran church on Cirelo avenue will begin the year Monday August 28. The staff includes Pastor Wag ner and teachers W Lingeman Lueker Guemmer Bruna Dryer and Moeller. Attendance and enrollment details are unclear but indicate potential budget needs.
Forest Park audiences will see a distinct style show at Ascher's Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday September 10 and 11. Kay-Vee shop in Mie aonie Temple building supplies dressers and wrappings while Temple Mootery provides footwear and no local pHifliner furnishes hats. A young woman Mrs Lila Crapsé living at 428 Hannah Avenue had her bobbed hair torn from her head when it was caught in the wringer of an electric washing machine in her home. The physician said the injury was not serious and hair would grow back in a day, though she was treated with hot and cold applications.
Anbew Anderson a 7 year old village employe on Park Avenue Forest Mark says a muzzled bulldog knocked him down Monday afternoon while he walked home from work near Lake Street. Chief Santa and village officials discussed the incident at the Wednesday council meeting. The dog’s owner, away at the time, defended his pet and said witnesses only recall barking. action was deferred with warnings and town officials alerted to the matter.
The Forent Park Commercial Association and the Madiaan Street Hoostera held a joint session Tuesday night to clear up picnic finances and address the Harlem avenida Randolph street crossing danger. They discussed profits from the event and planned joint action with Oak Park officials, as Phanto the magician entertained guests with tricks after a sandwich reception.
A Ahren-Fox fire engine touring North Chicago was exhibited in Forest Park for village officials. Augusta Sturm of 1026 Lathrop avenue died August 20 at West Boburbon hospital at age 61. Born in Germany she lived with daughter Mrs Louis Wedes and left a son Wallace and William and daughter Mia. Funeral Saturday at two thirty from the hoard and Gr church Oak Park with burial at Concordia. Henry Immig of 600 Thoman avenue died August 0 at Oak Park hospital at age 66. Born in Brooklyn he had lived in Forest Park ten years. Survived by wife and two children Harold and Dorothy. Funeral held Friday at St Johns church with burial at Concordia.
Albert Schoepfer and Albert H. Rott faced warrants for assault after a car chase ended with Schoepfer attempting to flee the Forest Park station. A bottle-filled car containing liquor was found. bail set at 200 each. The incident, linked to a prior attack claim, led to a continued court moment, with Judge Oliphant presiding.
