Condemned Building Used for Fire Department Training
Forest Park firemen used the old 122 Circle structure as a three day on site training ground before its demolition for a 9 unit senior citizen condominium by developer E F Hillner. Chief William Wrtis praised the program for exposing newer personnel to equipment and scenarios, including snorkel water directing. If another old building becomes available it will again serve training needs for the neighborhood.

2nd Annual Art Fair Huge Success
The Park District of Forest Park held Sunday August 19 on the grounds of the Park District. About 1500 art enthusiasts attended as 95 artists from the Midwest displayed two and three dimensional artworks. The committee thanks patrons and solicits support for the 3rd Annual Art Fair.

Rites Held For Mrs Heidenway Prominent Forest Park figure
Services were held August 16 at Woodlawn Cemetery for Esme Eric Heidenway 71 of 1003 Dunlop who died August 15 at Oak Park Hospital. She led the Forest Park Public Library project as Friends of the Library president and served with Proviso Community Concert Association and Oak Park Orthopedic Foundation. A longtime Chicago area legal stenographer she later created dolls and crafts for charity. Survivors include husband Walter son James Naperville daughter Carol Kramer Oregon two granddaughters and a sister.
