Burglary at Tolaptel 16 Lathrop apartment Wednesday night saw 4 rings 31500 in cash and 25 silver dollars taken. Burglars pried open a rear kitchen window while Zapfels were downstairs in the tavern. Local police investigate.
A series of petty thefts occurred in the 7500 block on Jackson during the last week. A woman reported missing items from a basement line including two slips six pairs of panties and a nightgown. The thief struck again Monday night in the same building taking two girdles two slips and two pairs of womens pajamas.
Roy H. Hann of 7431 Warren Forest Park marks 40 years with Illinois Bell Telephone Co. since starting in 1920 as a station installer helper. He has held roles from line installer to chief test man and is a member of St. John's Men's Club. He and wife Myrtie have a daughter Mrs Jerald Snyder and three grandchildren in Orange Texas. He enjoys fishing and howling as hobbies.
Cook County State’s Attorney Ben Adamowski will address the Young Republican organization of Proviso Township on Wednesday August 24 at 9 p.m. The event meets at the Regular Republican Headquarters 102 S 5th Ave Maywood with several Republican leaders expected to attend. Forest Park Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary asks volunteers to bake cakes and cupcakes for the USO Center at Clark and Lake on Saturday. Donors may drop off baked goods at Memorial Hall Friday evening or before 10 a.m. Saturday, or order from Schmidt's Pastry Shop and the committee will pick up. James Thomas president of the Forest Lions club thanks Forest Park residents for attending the Tuesday performance of Damn Yankees starring Shelly Berner at Melody Top theater. Proceeds will aid the Lions work with the blind.

Forest Park school leaders led by Superintendent Robert Pruitt and principals Wayne Craney and Carl Zdeb completed a concentrated two weeks as guests of the University of Chicago. The program included ten partner schools and Ford Foundation support to explore how universities assist districts, focusing on improving administrator collaboration with teachers and instructional methods. University staff will consult during the coming school year as districts implement conference decisions.
Thieves smashed a window at Rabe's Sporting Goods 7516 Madison on Thursday night and took transistor radios from display. Police investigated the smash and grab as he near the Forest Park area.
