Miss Bernice Clifton of Oak Park spoke about nine years with her German police dog Karla at the Kiwanis meeting. Lloyd Tellman arranged the program and noted Clifton’s insights on Seeing Eye work and the need for such dogs among 170000 blind Americans, citing one in ten owning a Seeing Eye dog.

Louis Weigel died at his home after a heart attack. He lived 27 years in Forest Park and 54 years with Adhips Westlake and Co in Flkart Indiana. Survived by six children Myrtle Biehl Mina Helphrey Hazel Monard Kenneth and Robert. Funeral from St Bernardine's church Wednesday morning.

Campagna’s Car Recovered Eight Minutes After Theft
Police recovered Campagna's car within eight minutes of the theft. Daniel Enright, 19, of Chicago, was arrested after officers Arthur las gine Herbert Ziebell chased the vehicle from 8340 Chile Avenue to Plaines Avenue. Chief Fred Licht said Enright claimed it was his first offense and he was handed to the Auto Detail of the state’s attorney for questioning.

Civic Club Outing a Success at Camp Bemis
More than a thousand Forest Park residents attended the Independent Civic club picnic at Camp Bemis on Sunday. The Married Men beat the Single Lads 22 to 19 in a surprise result as the Calcagno Roosters fell to Me C O softball. Prizes spurred races though two events were canceled for lack of entries. Organizers hope for another event in 1940.
