President Hal Tyrrell Edward McGuire of Forest Park Don Provenzano Township Clerk and Marshall Quandt Proviso Township Republican Committeeman invite Republicans of Proviso to the annual family picnic at Altenheim Grove Madison Ave and Soo Line Tracks on Sunday August 15. Triton College Fall Registration Opens August 16
Fall registration at Triton College starts August 16 and runs through September 17 for limited students defined as taking no more than two credits or seven semester hours. Department faculty will assist during listed times. No exceptions to the registration dates per Dean of Students David B. Raulston. A $5 late registration fee applies for registrations in the week of September 13.

Plaque honors Fred Gerds for youth coaching years
On Tuesday July 27 Kiwanis Club of Forest Park awarded a plaque recognizing six years of service to Forest Park youth through coaching the Kiwanis Kolts. Gerds has taught seven years at St John Lutheran and will join Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Birmingham Michigan as teacher and athletics director. Celebrates 50th Wedding Anniversary
A gathering at Homer's Restaurant in Forest Park on July 25 honored Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Black Sr. of Berwyn on their 50th wedding anniversary. Hostess Mrs. Thomas W. Black Jr. presided. a champagne dinner followed a cocktail hour. Black's Drug Store founders were remembered and Joseph David served as toastmaster.
