Spring Luncheon at Women's Athletic Club in Chicago
The River Forest Women’s Club will hold its spring luncheon on May 24 at 12:30 p.m. in the new Chicago Women’s Athletic Club building, a Gothic steel brick structure completed after 8 years. The 17 floors include shops, resident rooms, dining, ballrooms, and a swimming tank, with rentals expected to fund operations. Tickets, priced at two dollars, are arranged through River Forest club officers and members.

Winners in Scouts Rally Last Week

Woman Hurt as Taxi and Car Clashed
Sunday afternoon a yellow taxi and an Oak Park automobile collided at Oak and Forest. Mrs Danielson suffered a broken collarbone and rib injuries. Mrs Anderson bruised but not seriously hurt. The drivers were uninjured and the taxis were towed to garages.

Market Man Vanishes From Oak Park Store
Frank Verienghot who ran a market on Lake Street in Oak Park disappeared last Thursday leaving no forwarding address. His clerk kept the shop open that day and he took with him his accounts book. His wife had left town about two weeks earlier to visit relatives. A police key notice was placed on his door and the local officials offered no explanation. In the same issue the D A R chapter held a meeting with reports from state delegates Mrs Ledbrick and Mrs Hubbard and noted the prize essay by Lois Carver. Seventeen year old Fidel Cervantes performed three violin numbers and attracted much praise.
