Fire destroys 60 foot trailer home in city lot
Shortly after midnight Saturday a 60 foot trailer home owned by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Reagon on Lot 4 in the trailer court at 14th and Hannah was destroyed by fire. Mrs. Reagon woke to smoke, and her husband saw flames in the kitchen area after which they escaped. The couple turned off the gas valve, called the fire department, and police assisted as Lt. Walsh and Officers Conklin and Leisten arrived to find the interior fully engulfed.

Rev Roth to Be Honored by State Medical Society
Rev Richard Roth of St Peter's Lutheran Church Forest Park will receive the 1971 Religion Medicine Award for establishing the Forest Park Kidney Center in the parish basement. The center, a neighborhood branch of West Suburban Hospital Kidney Center, serves kidney failure patients with six hour dialysis sessions twice weekly. Community funding and labor, plus more than $10 000 donated, supported two dialysis machines and equipment. Dr Robert Muehrcke praised the expansion enabled by the Rev Roth’s efforts.
